IS NET ZERO SAFE IN ANY OF THESE HANDS?
For those of us in the UK it is a little terrifying right now to watch the contenders for leadership of the Conservative party engaging in a race to the bottom on Net Zero scepticism. These “populist” attempts to put their heads in the sand would be alarming under any circumstances.
But as the hosts of the recent COP26 conference – as supposedly global champions of the move to Net Zero – to renege on our commitments so quickly and readily is nothing short of an act of vandalism to an already fragile and insubstantial global consensus.
It feels like our project – which we have always thought of as a sort of “petri dish”, showing that as a community we can do on a small scale what should be done nationally, indeed, internationally – couldn’t be more vital right now.
An emerging populist narrative tells us that Climate Action is something that will be forced by the “elite” on a population who cannot afford it. We declare shenanigans on this. The move to sustainable energy and more energy efficient housing is something governments can easily afford to underwrite, that will pay for itself in 5-10 years, will give greater energy security, will create meaningful and dignified jobs and will SAVE people money - as fuel bills continue to soar the case couldn't be clearer. And of course, on top of all that, it 's also a vital contribution towards solving the Climate Crisis. We can't afford NOT to.
But we don’t just believe this. We are going to SHOW it.

£1000 AND £10000 SETS FOR PHILANTROPISTS AND BUSINESSES
Do you work for or have contacts with a business who might be interested in our framed £1000 sets? Or even the £10000 set we are about to launch - featuring literally every combination of organisation and denomination? We know that in the current economic climate not everyone who supports the project can afford to contribute towards the project, so this is a great way to help us.
We think these are beautiful art in their own right, and as socially embedded artworks provide an interesting talking point. Displaying these in reception or maybe a meeting room is a lovely way for any organisation to establish some green and community support credentials.
Similar sets from Bank Job are already deemed important works of social art and have been added to the permanent collections of museums and galleries around the world.
Sales of these sets go a long way towards us reaching our target for the street. And of course achieving our goals on the street is a newsworthy event and really helps make the case for national action that helps everybody with energy costs AND contributes towards reaching net zero. It’s not just about the street, it’s about show and tell - ensuring that everyone on every street sees that there are tangible benefits to their quality of life from such a program. This is the best possible innoculation we can think of against a populist message that Net Zero is somehow against people’s best interests.
You can direct them towards the sales page here, or if they want to contact us, we would be delighted to talk to them about the project.
