Daniel Edelstyn & Hilary Powell - Co-Directors


Co directors Hilary Powell and Dan Edelstyn work across art, film and social enterprise to make contagious visions and stories of change. Their first feature documentary film ‘How To Re-Establish A Vodka Empire’ (2011) involved a journey into Ukrainian family history that led to the setting up of a social enterprise vodka brand (Zorokovich 1917) and the beginnings of their fusion of storytelling and social impact. It was commissioned by Channel 4 and premiered at the BFI London Film Festival. ‘Bank Job’ - their second feature documentary similarly expanded beyond the screen and involved setting up a ‘rebel bank’printing money and exploding 1.2Million of debt. The film was supported by the BFI Doc Society’s Documentary Fund and premiered at HotDocs 2021 and artefacts produced alongside the film include a book and artworks now in the collections of theV&A and British Museum. 

The POWER STATION feature documentary film sees their collaborative work develop further in its ambition and has involved innovation in community and audience building strategies to achieve its goals. POWER STATION had its UK premiere at Sheffield DocFest 2025.

Mark Eris - Head of Production

Mark has a background in the electricity industry where he worked on remote metering systems that were the prototype for smart meters and in academia where he worked for The Department of Computer Science at City University.

He is also a pretty mean ambient DJ on the side.
