Power Station World Premiere at Sheffield Doc Fest

POWER STATION has had its world premiere to an absolutely amazing reception. We're so happy to have put in all the hard work & got the film into shape for this  - I thought I'd share a couple of images from the launch.

We could not have done this without everyone who has supported us so far In the film I ask Hilary at one point, "Is it worth it?"

Hilary replies (and I'm paraphrasing): "Yes - it feels like the only thing that keeps us going is making work that has a meaning and beauty."

The job of making these films is gruelling and takes years. This film was started during lockdown, it's had no broadcasters attached, no money from any of the usual sources of documentary film funding. We are incredibly proud of how independent and how co-dependently this film has been produced.

Power Station is about renewable energy - of course it is.

It's about standing up to be counted.

And it's made in spite of the industry gatekeepers.

It's a film fuelled by love, but also by rage.

There's so many faces in the film that we love of people who know the cost of real climate action. For instance our friend Sam, currently in prison in Scotland after an action for Just Stop Oil is in it for a fleeting moment.

The Film and TV industry are full of hot air - and it does almost make you want to give up sometimes. It's so deeply unfair.

But at moments like this, when a major piece of work is going out into the world, it's important to get close to the centre, and remember what's most important to us - and to build the future from there.

We will never give up. The old industry is dying. The commissioners and gatekeepers are losing their power. Time to double down.

Hope you enjoyed the photos from our premiere!

with warm wishes, Dan, Hilary, Leonie and all our team here at the HQ!
