We’ve been singing - even as the world falls to bits
I'm writing this from the Captain's Cottage, somewhere in Wales (hope she doesn't mind). It's quite dark and cold, and I'm dashing off this update before running out to the pub.
The last few days we travelled through floods to get to Centre of Alternative Technology - it was really quite a dramatic trip with fields and roads just completely submerged. (this was part of Civic Square's Retrofit Reimagined Festival)
It felt important to be coming to this event among the ever-increasing fall out from climate crisis.
Sunday morning was filled with song - it was so beautiful - have a little look at it here - we were filming the music video, trying to turn a whole gathering of people into christmas popstars…
It seems absurd to me that so many people still shout at Just Stop Oil. They're angry with the disruption they inflict with their slow marching… But you don't see them shouting at the floods, or screaming at the rain… Why not?
We just want to keep putting one foot in front of the next, and we intend to do just that - but to do this we need your help - we need the funding -
- to add more panels to another 35 houses on our street,
- to build the workshops and support for the other 50 streets who want to replicate the Power Station street idea
- to demand a fairer and faster transition that leaves no one behind!
