Einstein’s jumper… - and what it can tell us about building our PROJECTs
I read a funny thing earlier - about Einstein.
He wore crazy ragged clothing, and his partner, Elsa, implored him to dress up when world leaders arrived to meet him - but he always refused.
"Einstein quipped that if the important visitors were coming to see him, they'd see him as he was; but if they were coming to see his clothes, Elsa would show them to his wardrobe."
I think far too many of us worry about things that are of such little importance, not just our clothes, but all sorts of things that no one else really cares about…
Instead, we should be thinking about the value we bring to the world. Apart from wearing some pretty crazy jumpers with little regard given to the fashions of his day, Einstein cared very deeply about moral values and impact.
I do also think focusing on more important things applies to methods of getting attention, holding it and building a loyal following for the projects we create.
There's a rule called the 80/20 - and I wrote about it a lot in my book, which you have no doubt read.
80% of our results come from just 20% of the things we do. And when we drill into the 20% of useful activities, we find that we can focus in even further to cut wasted time out, and really begin to claw back time for the most important things we care about.
